What's In a Name?
The eclectic Oriental/organic/deli menu (with ample options for vegetarian picks) the Squeeze, sweetened by made-on-the-premises cookies, biscotti and other, varying treats, is reason enough to drive from wherever you are to the Little City... but more, the unusual -- and practically infinitely-variable menu (build-your-own stir fry or ample soup bowl, _excellent_ soups, well-filled wraps, creative breakfast entrees, and more) is offered in the unique ambience of a building squeezed many years ago between two older structures; you can still see the bricked up windows and granite pediments as you munch at tables for one or groups, or hoick up on tall chairs at the two-person tables against the sandblasted brick walls, replete with the works of local artists which rotate through the year.
One patron says, “It’s like being in a friend’s kitchen.” That goes not only for the open plan but qualifies the friendliness of owners Betsy and Andrew, and their staff. In less that a minute you're "at home" in their place and low key suggestions and menu help are stock-in-trade. Localvores will be happy with the Squeeze's buying policy, which not only helps our friends and neighbors who produce the ingredients but makes for intriguing changes in the menu as availability of foodstuffs changes.
Portions are generous, prices reasonable for the quality, quantity, and variety... and the whole experience is fun, relaxing and DELICIOUS. See the menu at www.parksqueeze.com and try it; you’ll like it!
